To answer your question, "A Homemade Life" is charming. The book is broken up into very short chapters which each describe a vignette from her life and how it relates to food, and then follows with a recipe. She writes naturally and honestly, and occasionally, beautifully. (If you're a grammarian you might find some fault with her editor, who seems to have an unhealthy addiction to commas.) It's light and breezy, and thoroughly enjoyable if you've followed her food blog at all.
